Anna Crum

Anna Crum

“My relationship with food and my body was the worst it had ever been when I was in the thick of studying Nutrition & Dietetics on my journey to become a Registered Dietitian. I would force myself to run every day and was stuck in a “good” versus “bad” mindset when it came to food. You wouldn’t catch me dead eating a cookie. Like my life depended on it. Dieting stole years of my life from me, but the saddest part was running every day, skipping meals, passing up on family pasta meals, and refusing to eat Chickfila were all socially accepted. All of these disordered behaviors were considered “healthy” and “good” in my efforts to lose weight, but they were the complete opposite. Obsessing about being healthy is NOT healthy. I found peace with food and my body by centering my studies on Intuitive Eating and HAES. It changed my life, and I know it will change yours. Now I eat to fuel my body, center my worth away from the size of my body, and educate others about the life-changing principles of Intuitive Eating.”

– A Note From Anna

Anna graduated from the University of North Florida (UNF) with a B.S. in Nutrition & Dietetics and a minor in Digital Marketing. She went on to complete her dietetic internship with Wellness Workdays, choosing a concentration in Entrepreneurship/Sports Nutrition. During her internship she completed rotations with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Turning Tides Eating Disorder Clinic, and Find Food Freedom. In addition to working with Find Food Freedom during her internship, Anna has worked under Sammy since 2018. She transitioned from her role as an intern, to Virtual Assistant/Enrollment Coach, and is on her way to become a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor with over three years of experience under her belt.

Anna is passionate about preaching the message of Intuitive Eating and helping everyone fuel their bodies without guilt or shame. She believes that you were placed on this earth for more than chasing after a smaller body size. Anna strives to help others break free from diet culture and discover a life of food freedom.

Julie Roberti

julie Roberti

When I first started my training as a Registered Dietitian I fell into a very disordered relationship with food and my body. The first time I lost weight was by accident, but the results were overwhelming. I got so much attention and noticed when I stopped restricting I gained back the weight plus some. The control, the attention, all of it was so enticing. This rollercoaster lasted for over two decades. In my mid 40’s going through perimenopause my body gave up, I could not lose even a pound. That was when I decided to stop dieting and just eat what felt good. Over the next 10 years my weight increased but my joy and love of life also increased. It took a long time to make peace with my new body, especially after menopause.  But, the peace of enjoying going out to dinner with my friends and family, going on vacations, family celebrations and no longer being obsessive about everything I ate felt amazing. Getting my certification in Intuitive Eating was one of the most amazing experiences for me both personally and professionally. Getting to work with my clients and understanding each step they are going through helps me to really help them unpack their own trauma around diet culture. I feel very lucky to be able to work with my clients and support them through each step of the process!

Julie lives in Ponte Vedra, FL with her husband and three children, Liv, Jake and Max and her Maltese Teddy! Julie has a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Delaware and a Masters Degree in Nutrition Education and Marketing from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Grace Bridgford

Grace received her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition degree from Texas A&M University and then completed her dietetic internship at Wellness Workdays with a concentration in Nutrition Communications and Marketing. She is now a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.

As with most dietitians, I chose a nutrition path thinking I wanted to help people “get healthier, lose weight, and improve their exercise.” I’ve always been an active individual and a foodie, so nutrition just felt like the right major for me. However, near the end of undergrad I was feeling extremely burnt out in the dietetics space. It was always the same story – tell people to lose weight and restrict their intake. But it felt like something wasn’t sitting right with me, as if my passion for nutrition was quickly coming to an end, but I didn’t know why. Soon thereafter, I was introduced to Intuitive Eating and it finally made sense why I was feeling so burnt out. My passion had finally been reignited thanks to Intuitive Eating and I can happily say I never looked back to weight-centric care again. Intuitive Eating changed my life in so many more ways than just my relationship with food. Although I was not a frequent dieter, diet culture still had it’s ways of sinking its teeth all over my life and I could see how much it was affecting my friends and family as well. Now as a weight-inclusive dietitian, I love sharing the Intuitive Eating, Health At Every Size message with individuals to help them heal their relationship with food and body, find forms of movement that truly bring joy to their lives, and break free from the chains of diet culture.

Alex Spicer

Alex became a dietitian because she wanted to help people in their pursuit of health through nutrition. Prior to college, Alex had a pretty decent relationship with food and her body. She considered herself lucky to have not been pushed into dieting as a child.

But her relationship with food completely changed due to her experience as a Division 1 collegiate gymnast. She began developing some disordered eating habits due to the constant pressure she was under from my coaches to keep her weight “under control”. This only got worse as her very weight-centric dietetics training continued and she became obsessed with eating “healthy” and controlling her weight. When she discovered Intuitive Eating, she realized that she had some healing to do. She worked on her relationship with food using the Intuitive Eating framework and discovered just how disordered her eating habits had been. For 10 years, she had been stuck in the restrict-binge cycle. She found so much more freedom and joy once she made peace with food and her body. She is now honored to share this with the world and help others do the same! Alex is so excited to be able to use her own experience as well as her knowledge and expertise as a Registered Dietitian to provide compassionate weight-inclusive care to all.

Utilizing a client-centered approach, she works collaboratively with individuals to unravel the complexities of intuitive eating, offering personalized strategies to enhance overall well-being. Her mission is rooted in fostering body positivity, dismantling harmful stereotypes, and guiding clients towards a place of self-acceptance and self-care.

At a young age, Marissa grew up in a family that had many strict food rules and a narrow view on what a healthy body looked like. This along with having multiple food allergies and being diagnosed with Celiac disease at age 15 made her want to pursue an education in nutrition. Marissa earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nutrition from Cal Poly University and Texas Tech University. Her academic background equipped her with the knowledge to interpret nutritional science while also understanding the impact of societal influences on health and body image. And when she learned about intuitive eating, she immediately resonated with it and knew she had chosen the right career.

I specialize in helping neurodivergent individuals understand their bodies better and tune into how their brain works differently. This allows them to work with these differences instead of against them 🙂 I also specialize in binge eating disorder, ARFID, disordered eating, and hypothalamic amenorrhea!

I received my Bachelor of Science focused on Culinary Nutrition at Johnson & Wales University and then moved on to get my Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. I am so passionate about this work because I struggled with my relationship with food, body, and movement for so long during my childhood and college years.

My approach to nutrition counseling emphasizes self-compassion, body positivity, and health-promoting practices. I believe everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident in their bodies, regardless of shape or size, and work with clients to cultivate a positive and non-judgmental attitude towards food and their bodies. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their relationship with food and body and empower them to make decisions that align with their unique needs and values.

Now that I have healed my relationship with food, I love to cook and bake all different types of cuisine. My favorite cooking project currently is making different styles of fresh pasta from scratch. My approach to coaching is firmly evidence-based, rooted in the Health At Every Size (HAES®) & Intuitive Eating frameworks. I believe that the work involved with unraveling years of conditioning in diet culture and learning to come home to one’s body is deeply spiritual work and I treat it as such. It is my mission to help my clients make peace with food and body so they can unlock their most expansive and fulfilling lives.

My passion for helping people break free from diet mentality stems in part from my own lived-experience. I found myself in the throes of diet culture in highschool when I got deeply entrenched in my hippie, “crunchy granola,” identity. This led me to become obsessed with eating “clean” and natural, which resulted in inevitable binge eating and shame. You can hear my full story on this podcast episode

My journey as a dietitian began at the intersection of nutrition and psychology, as I chose to major in both during my undergraduate career. My commitment to ongoing education and practicing with humility ensures that I provide evidence-based, personalized care to each of my clients. I have eating disorder experience at the intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care. Outside of eating disorders, I geek out on PCOS, IBS, and mood disorders.

It is my goal to restore trust in the healthcare provider-client relationship, ensuring that each person feels respected and supported throughout their healing process. Every session with me is an opportunity to explore if your food and exercise behaviors truly align with your core values. I understand that every individual is unique, and I tailor my interventions to address not just nutritional needs but also the emotional and psychological aspects of eating disorders.

Out side of Find Food Freedom, she is a licensed property, casualty, and life insurance Risk Management Advisor AND a Certified Personal Trainer + Group Fitness Instructor. She is passionate about helping people reclaim the joy in movement!

My Intuitive Eating journey began in January of 2020 after 25 years of a toxic relationship with food and exercise. I spent 15 years yo-yo-ing through every, and any, fad diet I could find and then 10 years on an extremely restrictive food regimen, and I wore that restriction like a badge of honor. Exercise became purely about manipulating the size of my body and stopped being about how it made me feel.  As a personal trainer I was telling my clients that without “sustainability” they would never find “success”.  Like so many people in the world, I just really didn’t know there was any other way. It wasn’t until I heard about Intuitive Eating that I realized that I wasn’t even following my own advice.  I was living a life that was unsustainable to my mental health. It was in that very thought that I went all in and will never look back. Without Intuitive Eating I would have never given myself the chance to trust my body with food or movement, I would have never given myself the permission to let go of the restriction, and I would have never given myself the opportunity to love and appreciate my body for all the wonderful things it does for me instead of always judging it only on how it looks….I have never felt so free and I am so excited to have the opportunity to play a part in spreading this message.

My life-changing journey with Intuitive Eating started with Find Food Freedom and I am so excited to be part of this amazing team.  Being a past client in the group coaching program gives me a relatability to prospective clients and I love being able to share that experience with them!”

Erin has a Master’s Degree in English from NC State University. She met her husband while teaching English in Mexico. When they moved to the US, she taught Spanish until transitioning into copywriting. They live in Charlotte, NC with their two little girls.

I started to fall outside of the “healthy” range for weight early on – ie – I grew up fat. Throughout my childhood, I endured bullying from my peers and commentary from well-meaning adults in my life. At age 10, I embarked on my first diet, kicking off 24 years of dieting. I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 15 and told that I had to lose weight and stay thin to manage it.

I lost large amounts of weight multiple times in adulthood, even getting into the “normal” BMI category once. I have lived in both a big body and a thin body, making me painfully aware of the vast difference between those two experiences.

After having my second baby in March 2020, I was finding it incredibly difficult to “get my body back.” In February of 2021, I confided in my therapist how I “just couldn’t stick to a diet” after trying for almost a year to lose the baby weight. I fully expected her to give me strategies for being better at dieting. Instead, she gently introduced me to the concepts of Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating. After that, I knew there was no going back! I know that making peace with food is the only way I can save my daughters from the guilt, shame, and self-hatred that I endured as a child.

Now, I look at pictures of myself in childhood and I see a girl who never felt comfortable in her body. She didn’t feel worthy of love or respect, because the entire world told her she couldn’t be. I joined the Find Food Freedom team because I’m passionate about spreading intuitive eating far and wide, so that other people can break free from the shackles of diet culture like I have.”

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and combined it with a Master’s of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics through the Coordinated Program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Eden internalized so many of diet culture’s messages as a teenage girl and young woman, and she hit diet rock bottom hard at the end of her collegiate athletic career. 3 stress fractures in her left foot, osteopenia, secondary amenorrhea for 3+ years, and a wrecked relationship with her respective sport were the wakeup calls that finally snapped her out of the diet mentality. She realized she could never go on a restrictive diet again if she wanted a more peaceful relationship with food and her body, especially when she retired from competitive sport. She spent the next decade slowly internalizing Intuitive Eating principles, and now, she will tell you the best thing she has ever done for her health is heal her relationship with food. Eden aims to inspire others to recognize that a fueled body performs better than a starving body in all phases of life. She challenges everyone – in her mountain community and beyond – to not let the fear of food, fear of judgment, or fear toward anything else keep them from leading the lives they’re meant to live. If you ask Eden, the keys to becoming truly fearless are eating more food around our activities, appreciating our bodies for what they allow us to do vs how they look, and moving our bodies in ways we actually enjoy.
